Pay a visit to the world renowned Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, during your time in Sri Lanka, and spend some quality time interacting with some fiercely intelligent and friendly jumbos! The orphanage was established in 1975, to provide care for abandoned baby elephants; and since then, has expanded to facilitate a large herd of injured elephants in need of medical attention and rehabilitation. Don’t forget to watch their daily bath session down by the river!
