At the 15th World Travel Awards Ceremony held at the Swissôtel Grand Shanghai, China on the 19th June, 08 Adaaran 'Prestige' Water Villas Meedhupparu, Maldives received the award for "Maldives Leading Water Villas". |

Small & Medium Hotels Rs. 600 Million |

Sri Lanka’s Small and Medium Tourist hotels will receive Rs. 600 million to refurbish their properties. This credit facility is extended to them through the European Investment Bank. It will be dispersed through DFCC and Bank of Ceylon. In addition a further Rs. 100 million collected through the CESS fund too would be channeled to the promotion of the SME hotel sector. Further, under this programme hotels would be given grants to participate in international travel promotional fairs. |

Refurbishment of Club Palm Garden |

To improve their products for the benefit of the customers, Club Palm Garden will have their guest rooms on the 1st & 2nd floors of the south-wing refurbished during the period 1st September to 30th November 2008.
The work will entail:

Soft refurbishment of the rooms & bathrooms |

Tiling of room corridors |
| • |
Tiling of guest corridors from the Lobby to Lobby Bar Terrace |

Remodeling of the Conference Hall & infrastructure repairs required to the
south wing |
The North Wing guest rooms, Lobby Bar, Main Restaurant, Pool Bar, Swimming Pool and Sports/Recreational facilities will be fully functional during this period.Although work is done on the 1st & 2nd floors of the south wing, access to guests to the entire south wing which includes ground floor rooms will be denied. |

Refurbishment at Riverina Hotel, Beruwala |

Riverina Hotel , Beruwela has started an extensive refurbishment in all its landside rooms and is preparing to offer a newer product to their guests from July, 08. Riverina has 190 rooms located in the popular Golden Mile in Beruwela. The newly refurbished Riverina will open for public in July 08 with one of the largest inventory of similar looking rooms in any beach resort. |

Tangalle Bay diversifies services |

Tangalle Bay is the only hotel in Sri Lanka built in the shape of a ship amidst the waves in Tangalle sea is now promoting local weddings, workshops, local and foreign events and non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) events.
The hotel has 22 cabin rooms out of which six are deluxe type rooms and the balance is crew cabins / rooms. Every cabin / room has its own balcony facing the Ocean and the unending spatter of waves across the beach creates a pleasant noise. |
