Tientsin
Step into the world of Tientsin and step back in time. This spacious bungalow was one of the first to be built in the Ceylon tea country. Named after the Chinese village from which the original tea seedlings came, this very British residence is a historical landmark.
Six glorious rooms and suites open onto magnificent English gardens still standing loyal to the colonial planters wives who created a little bit of home in a far away land. Wander the glorious rose terraces and leafy arbours and listen to the myriad sounds of the birds that make their homes there.
Each suite is faithful to the original design with polished wooden floors, high ceilings and four-poster beds. The graceful dining room and lounge are an invitation to sample our delicious cuisine and relax around a blazing fire.
Tientsin has a history that traverses a hundred years and with our help has withstood the test of time; it’s legacy a testimony to the past for our guest to share today.
Norwood
The Bungalow at Norwood commands a fine view of the eastern end of the Bogawantalawe valley and rests in the shelter of the one of the finest bamboo groves to be found anywhere.
The suites are spacious with imposing colonial style furniture and elegant bathrooms. A spacious lounge and well-stocked library lead out onto a croquet lawn, a large swimming pool and sun deck. It is here where planters of the past invited friends to enjoy the pristine air and glorious view. You too can wander the time-unchanged gardens while soaking up the atmosphere of a time gone by and sit down to a traditional English Tea on the lawn served by authentically dressed ‘Apoos’. Explore the surrounding area and visit a tea factory and tea plantations.
Castlereagh
Nestled in a wooded dell, this century old bungalow offers unobstructed views of beautiful gardens, tea plantations and the magnificent Castlereagh Reservoir. Enjoy a delicious cup of tea and a good book while relaxing in the summer pavilion and watch the sun set below the water.
Elegant parquet floors and open fireplaces create a warm and cosy atmosphere in this plush home where you can savour delicious meals in the dining room, on the terrace overlooking the pool or in your personal suite. Discreet butlers await your requests.
Summerville
High above the reservoir lake at the edge of a tea plantation, Summerville stands sentinel. This elegantly appointed four-room bungalow enjoys magnificent views of the water and beyond to the tea plantations in the distant hills.
The neo-traditional furniture of the rooms and suites provide a sensitive balance of the classical and contemporary. Some suites open onto private gardens and all rooms have easy access to a cosy lounge where picture windows provide a backdrop to a roaring fire as the evening mist draws in.

The interior of the bungalow has barely changed since it was built in the 1930s, except for the addition of a few modern comforts, and still retains its colonial charm with its high ceilings, period furniture, family photographs and well-thumbed books.
