Mount Lodge, Mt. Lavinia

Mount Lodge is a beautiful three-floored heritage house designed by one of Sri Lanka’s leading architects. It is a minute’s walk from the beach and conveniently located for shopping in the Colombo area. Once through the gates, you are transported from a busy township into an oasis of tranquility induced by the skillful use of light and space.

The Moorish, unassuming exterior of the lodge was especially created to make a minimalist statement and let nature do the talking with vibrant Bougainvilleas creeping through the concrete trellised walls. The entrance hall leads directly into a sumptuously furnished sitting room and an indoor garden - a piece of architectural genius with palm trees, leafy ferns and an attractive water feature. Adjacent to this room is a tastefully appointed dining room. Both rooms are decorated with paintings depicting Sri Lanka’s ancient culture. The outdoor garden provides a glorious backdrop by day and night.

The plush and comfortable ground floor bedroom suit offers twin beds and an en suite bathroom. The bedroom opens into a private courtyard that houses an exotic mango tree.

The second floor offers a two-bedroom suite each with its own bathroom. There is an open plant filled courtyard ideal for relaxing with a good book or sunbathing in privacy. A large sitting room allows for entertaining friends, or just watching the news on satellite TV. This suite is ideal for family use, or the businessman with style.

The luxurious ‘honeymoon suite’ is located on the third floor. With a king-size four-poster bed, large fully tiled bathroom, an elegant sitting room, and a private courtyard for cocktails and dinner, this suite offers the ultimate in privacy and comfort.

Mount Lodge is fully staffed and guests are invited to discuss their meal preferences with the Chef.
